Emergency Guidelines Continued |
|
· If you have more than one pet, make sure that all their information is included in your emergency pack. Keep original labels on all medications. · If your vet suggests using a calming agent for your pets during an emergency, make sure to write down the dosage for each animal and include that in the pocket of your pack. · Check expiration dates on all products (food, medications) in your emergency pack and rotate the products. · Take a picture of you with your pet for identification purposes. If there are any unique features for your pet, make sure those are listed on the back of the picture. · For cats being transferred, you can use a pillow case to put the cats in and tie the opening. Practice this with your cats often so they are not resistant to it if the time comes. · Include a muzzle in your dog evacuation kit if your dog spooks easily or is not wonderful with other animals or strangers. This will give you a level of comfort as well. |
